Youth Assistance is a community-based program whose mission is to strengthen youth and families, and to prevent and reduce delinquency, neglect, and abuse through community involvement.
•With Madison Heights Community Family Coalition, we recognize Youth in the community who have volunteered and gone above and beyond.
MHYA works with the schools and community to provide opportunities for parents to attend seminars, workshops and other Parent Education Classes.
We are currently coordinating with both Lamphere and Madison Schools to host "Parent Cafes".
Check back for more information.
•Youth are matched with trained mentors.
We screen and match caring and concerned volunteers with youngsters who are in need of a positive adult role model or friend.
We recruit, interview, and match adult volunteers with youngsters.
Volunteers are asked to spend approximately 1-2 hours per week with their youngsters for a period of one year and engage in meaningful activities.
When possible, MHYA will sponsor children to attend various summer camp programs.
